Member Testimonials
I enjoy STC because it provides camaraderie and networking opportunities. I recently moved to the area, so STC-MGL is even more valuable to me, because I’ve been able to connect with local technical communicators, learn more about the market we serve, and meet some really great people.
— H. Shelly
When I think of the value of my long-time membership in our Michigan STC chapter, I think about a Dale Carnegie quote I heard many years ago. “You can make more friends in two months by becoming more interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get people interested in you.” What I love about our local chapter is the relationships I’ve developed over so many years. I can gain lots of knowledge on the internet, and I’ve made some online friends, too, but our local chapter has provided the events and volunteer opportunities for meeting new people and developing some of my most meaningful and long-standing professional relationships.
— M. David
Being a part of STC and taking the leap to serve on the STC-MGL chapter council has opened the doors to so many opportunities for me to develop my leadership skills and connect with outstanding people who share my professional interests. The STC community continually inspires me and challenges me to be the best I can be as a technical communicator and as a leader.
